Lake Tahoe Trip

So a year ago my parents told us to mark our calenders for a Garbett reunion at Lake Tahoe. We packed the car and woke up bright and early (4 am) with the thought that the kids would go back to sleep. Boy were we wrong! The kids didn't go back to sleep and only took a little 30-45 min nap. By the time we past Reno Nathan was yelling at Jon saying 'stop car daddy, I done'. We rented a large cabin for all of us to stay in and it was perfect. There was a bedroom for each family which made bedtime a lot easier for the kids and still allowed us adults to stay up and visit at night.
Our first pit stop was at a rest area so here we are at the salt flats.

We did some hiking while we there too. Here is Jon with Nathan on his shoulders

On Friday we were suppose to split into two groups and while the older grandkids went rafting the little ones were going to a local children museum. Do to the Truckee river being too full and too rapid they weren't letting anyone raft, so the older kids went to play miniature golf instead.

I love this pic because Nathan is look at my dad through the little window and you can also see a little of the aquarium that made it feel like they were really under the water.

Kyler and Grant at the dinosaur mini golf course. Apparently Ky was so good that he got a whole in 1 on the next course. He was also standing a little too close while Grant was golfing and got a nice bruise on his cheekbone.

Sorry this one is out of order but at the museum we dressed the kids in sea related costumes. So here is Nathan as a shark.

I decided to play on the nice warm sand with Nathan and Keira.

Landon thinking twice about going all the way in... it was COLD!

My parents even dove in the frigid water but we all had to promise that pics of them wouldn't show up on our blogs and facebook.

On Sunday we attend sacrament meeting at a local church and then headed to Felt Farm to hang with more family. I got to see all four of my grandparents and my awesome aunt and uncle and their kids. The grandkids were so excited to see all the animals. unfortunately we were pretty busy chasing kids and trying to visit that we didn't get many pics of the animal. However there were 2 pigs, 2 pot belly pigs, tons of chickens and roosters, 3 horses, 1 pony, lots of cows and calves, a bunny, a few dogs, and 2 alpacas .
The boys and I with my dad's parents.

I know this pic is a little fuzzy but his is me and my grandpa Felt

Landon was a little excited... can you tell

Nathan wasn't sure about Apache

Since we couldn't go rafting because the river was too full and too rapid we rented a 4 man paddle boat. We took turns taking all the kids out and getting a little leg workout in the process.
