Carving Pumpkins

Tonight we finally had the opportunity to carve our pumpkins. The kids loved getting to draw their own faces and watch Mommy and Daddy carve the out. Looks like we are ready for Halloween.

Halloween at Preschool

Wednesday for preschool we decided to let the kids dress up in their halloween costumes. I thought it was going to pandamonium but it went really well. Due to the fact that I didn't want to risk the boys getting their real halloween costumes dirty I dressed them in some extra costumes from around the house. Landon is batman (yes these are actually pjs) and Kyler is suppose to be Bob the Builder. The other kids were batman, spiderman and pumpkins. For the special day I decided to make the kids individual little pumpkin cakes. For craft they made witches out of toilet paper rolls (kyler made a candy corn man which he is very proud of).

Our House

Sorry it took so long to finally get pictures of the house posted. I wanted all the pictures hung up on the walls and no boxes left up stairs. Anyways, here are a few pics of the house. As you can tell from the outside shot the yard isn't in yet and is probably going to have to wait until spring. With some of the money we received from the sell of our condo we did purchase a few new items... the couches, entertainment center, and a new desk in the office. No matter how many times I clean that TV screen it always seems to have finger prints all over it. I am very excited that I actually have a kitchen that I can move around in. I'm excited about the whole house of course by especially the master bathroom and closet. I've never had that much room before. Now I'm going to need more clothes to fill the closet. The picture of the picture that I posted was the only piece of 'art work' that we bought... in case you can't read what it says under the pics it says 'All because two people fell in love'. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a hopeless romantic so I had to have it... plus we got it for a great price. The kids are loving the house but what they like most is the fact that they have all of their toys back. It is amazing what four months will do to a child when they are away from their own things. Well, that's about it for the house. We are all adjusting and loving our new place and hope that all of y'all will be able to visit sometime in the future.

Pumpkin Picking

Now that we have our internet working at our new house I can finally update our blog. Pictures of the new house are coming as soon as I unpack a couple more boxes. Anyways, a week or so ago we went to our last activity with Mom and Dad Humphries' ward. The Bishop own a huge nursery and this year he had a pumpkin picking activity out on his land. We were picked up at the main entrance by a tractor with a hay wagon attached. That is actually Bishop Stevenson driving the tractor. They drove us to the pumpkin patch at the far end of the property (about a quarter mile or more). When we arrived we got to search for the perfect pumpkins. Then we had hamburgers, hot dogs, and a popcorn machine set. I was a lot of fun the kids a had a great time. Luckily the Humphries' brought their new truck to load all of the pumpkins in... We had about 15 pumpkins between all the grandkids.

Landon's 4th Birthday

Today is actually Landon's b-day but due to Jon's work schedual we decided to celebrate a day early. So after conference it was party time! For dinner we had a past bar with spagetti and fetticine alfredo, salad and homemade garlic bread. After dinner it was present time. Landon received books, games, a fishing pole, tee ball set, scooter and more. The cake was an adventure!! Landon wanted a superhero cake with spiderman, batman, and superman. As crazy as I went trying to create a masterpiece... it was worth it because Landon loved it. It's had to believe that my little boy is 4! Where has the time gone!?

Conference

For general conference this year we had our traditional Humphries' Conference Breakfast. (coffee cake, eggs, and Grandpa's famous potatoes). We had a number of quiet activities for the boys to do in hope of a somewhat reverent conference Sunday. For the most part the boys did a great job. They both slept through the majority of the second session which made it a lot easier to listen to the speakers. It was a great time to gather together as family and listen to the words of guidance and love from our beloved general authority.
