Merry Christmas

We started our Christmas celebration promptly at 6 a.m. with all the kids sitting on our bed as Jon read Luke 2.

Christmas Eve

Landon's gingerbread house (graham cracker house). Kyler wasn't feeling well so he didn't feel like finishing his.

The boys decorating sugar cookies for Santa. They did a lot better job this year not piling on the icing.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care and the boys were very excited and not quite nestled in their beds.

Sunday Festivities

Sunday started with us attending church of course. Since it was Christmas Sunday I know I wanted my boys to look extra cute. Here they are wearing their matching green ties (from Krista's wedding). At least Nathan's doesn't swallow him anymore... it fit he very nicely. After church we came home and finished packing up holiday goodies, baked a birthday cake, and started our spaghetti sauce for dinner. Once the boys woke up from their naps we bundled everyone up and started delivering goodies to friends in the neighborhood. We decided that it would be easier to simply walk because I wasn't snowing. When we returned home we had a nice cup of hot chocolate and sat by the fire to warm up. I needed to hurry and frost the cake so that I could run to a primary meeting. Once I got back it was time for dinner. We had Jared, Sarah, and Bryon as well as Grandpa and Megan join us for dinner. We had some yummy spaghetti, french bread, and salad. After dinner Jon and I exchanged birthday presents for each other. I got a beautiful necklace and Jon got Guitar Hero. Our friends Darren and Marni came over for cake and ice cream and afterwards Jon and Darren battled it out on guitar hero. Boy was it a busy day.... but a lot of fun.

Thanksgiving

We had a very eventful Thanksgiving week. All of the Garbetts gathered at our house this year. I was a lot of especially for the grandkids. (11 grandkids from 7 yrs old to 3 months). Thanksgiving was full of fun and lots of great food. Friday we went shopping then had family pictures done followed by a big Christmas gift exchange (b/c we won't see each other for Christmas). Saturday was the big game and temple square. I will mention that our little family didn't make it to Temple Square due to Kyler up-chucking in the car.

Jon and my Dad playing guitar hero (guitar hero is Jon's early birthday present)

Nathan and Keira holding hands. They were having a lot of fun just playing on the floor until Nathan got a handful of Keira's hair.

Jon getting a nap right after our Black Friday shopping. We had a blast and got all of the boys Christmas completely done. Going shopping without kids and having breakfast with just the two of us is as close to a date as we've had for a while.

Thanks to Michael and Donna all of the grand kids got these adorable robes. My boys put theirs on every night and morning.

How do they measure up?!

I've had a couple of people ask about if all my boys are looking alike and/or how they measure up size wise. I figured I'd post some pics of each at about the same age and let you make your own conclusions. (they are all around 5 months old.)

Sock Drawer

The other day Landon was trying to show how strong he is by lifting Kyler and trying to carry him around the room. I was in the kitchen cooking when I heard him announce 'man you're heavier than my sock drawer'. I thought I must have his understood him, but nope he said it again a few minutes later. I'm not quite sure how heavy a sock drawer is but apparently Ky is heavier than it.

Rock & Roll

Last week Nathan started to roll over and does it pretty well now. He has definitely discovered his voice and makes sure he is heard. I had to take him out of church Sunday because he was just getting a little too loud. Nathan is still a very happy baby but doesn't not hand out his smiles quite as much (not as bad as Kyler was). It is so fun seeing his little personality starting to show a little more.

Trick-or-Treat

This year Halloween was full of lots of excitement and fun. As you can see in the pics above Nathan was a Lion, Landon was Batman, and Kyler was an Elephant. We started out the evening going to our ward's trunk-or-treat. We enjoyed great soup and visiting with our friends. Afterwards we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Humphries' house for some door to door treating. Well needless to say we got home with way more candy then two little boys need.

Carving the Pumpkins

Since Halloween fell on a Saturday this year it gave us a chance to actually carve our pumpkins this morning. We woke up, ate breakfast and spent the rest of the morning carving our pumpkins. The boys each showed/told us exactly how to make the faces on their pumpkins.

I'VE GOT LUNGS AND I'M GONNA USE THEM

I decided to post this pic for all those people who have said that they've never even seen Nathan cry. He is a great baby but just like all babies he does cry. I had just finished feeding him some rice cereal and just let him sit in the high chair while I did the dinner dishes and this is what he thought about that. Although it may not look it, Nathan loves to eat his baby food. Last night at dinner he ate an entire baby food container of squash. I love when I can catch these 'special' moments on camera.

Pumpkin Pickin'

Landon on the hayride with Grandma Humphries and Great Grandma Gordon. I know this isn't the best picture but this was actually Grandma Gordon's very first hayride. (she is turning 86 this month)

Happy 5th Birthday Landon!!!

Landon celebrated his 5th birthday Sunday after conference and we had a great time. We decided to keep it just family which meant we had about 20 people including us. My stupid camera died right after I got these couple pictures. Landon wanted a soccer cake and I was thrilled with the way it turned out.
