Merry Christmas

This year Christmas happened a little different in our house. Jon had to work on Christmas Day. He was the one manager on duty that day and no matter what we tried, he wasn't getting off. So he requested Christmas Eve off instead. When we got home from church on Sunday the 23rd, there was a letter and some candy canes from Santa, sitting on the fireplace. The letter stated that since Jon had to work 'Santa' would visit our house early so that we could celebrate all together on the 24th. That meant that the 23rd ended up being a little frantic/ crazy. We had to make sure everything was picked up, wrap the last of the presents, bake cookies for Santa, etc. But we did make it all in time.
Before all the excitement/ mess began

The boys all slept in the little boys' room. We simply brought Landon's mattress in their room. Here they are getting ready to go to sleep in there new pajamas of course.

We had finished reading Luke 2 and the boys were sitting on our bed waiting for the okay from Dad to enter the living room.

 Nathan's fish game.

I got a wall hanging photo frame jewelry box... ( and jewelry to go in it). My favorite is a ring that Jon got me that has all my kids names and their birth stones on it.

 Landon's Roller Blades
The boys got a joint Imaginext  collection

 Legos for Ky (of course)

 Landon with his loot

 Kyler with his treasures

 Nathan's haul

Dex even got a hiking backpack.

Ky's scooter ( of course it was snowing so he was left to riding it around the house)

Jon helping the boys build their lego sets

Jon received a bike, helmet, water bottle, and travel pump.

And last but not least, Nathan got his tool set and work bench

Thanksgiving in St. George

Since Jon's parents moved to St. George the week before Thanksgiving we all gathered there this year. It was kind of nice to get away from the cold for a few days. The boys and I picked Jon up at work on Wednesday and headed down. On Thanksgiving besides just eating yummy food a bunch of the family went up to Dixie Rock to play. Friday we went back to Dixie Rock ( just our family) and just spent the morning with our own little fam. Followed by family pictures and then swimming at Grandma's pool. We said our good-byes Saturday morning and started our 5 1/2 hour drive home. It was a fun little vacation and wonderful to see all of Jon's family.

I am very grateful for my cute little family. They mean the world to me.

Friday after noon we had our family pictures taken with all of Jon's side of the family. Nathan had just woken up and was okay as long as I was holding him so when they wanted a pic of just Grandma and Grandpa with the grand kids it was a no go for Nathan. I ended up having to be in the picture to just so he would stay and I'm sure he was crying the whole time. Afterwards when he had calmed down we wanted to take a pic with my cell phone of just the two of us. See he can be happy... when he chooses to be.

Again this year we did our family grateful tree.

On Thanksgiving day while some of us moms were busy cooking a few of the parents took the grand kids out to climb Dixie Rock and the Narrows.
Sitting in the middle is Kyler and Bryon and a bunch of the other kids are climbing around.
This is the Narrows. It is a very narrow cave that people can climb through there is Kyler, Nathan and a few other family members going through. Nathan named it the 'Squishy Cave'. On Friday the boys took me back to Dixie Rock and I tried to go in the Narrows but as Kyler pointed out to me 'mom has body parts that stick out more' aka I wasn't narrow enough for the Narrows.

Our niece Megan brought her dog Nicki. I think Nicki made Jon miss Dex who stayed home with a dog sitter.

Isn't the view beautiful. I think it made Jon a little home sick for St George.

Halloween Fun

We went to Black Island Farms to get our pumpkins

Kyler wanted to show that he was strong enough to pull all the pumpkins plus Nathan.... It last a few minutes before Jon had to take over.

Every year at our elementary school the students participate in a Halloween Parade. The 2nd graders sing fun Halloween songs while the entire school parades around. It a lot of fun and the kids love it.
Here's the 2nd graders (Landon is in there as well as his cousin Bryon and a bunch of his friends)
Landon parading past while still singing
Kyler couldn't wear his actual costume so we made do with Mommy's grey shirt and the hat/ear/trunk from his elephant costume that he wore three years ago.
Nathan really wanted Dex to dress up but I was not about to go spend money on a costume so I put a bandanna around his neck and said he was a cowboy.
 Landon went as Superman/Clark Kent
Kyler as a Mummy. He decided what he wanted to be and even told me how to make it. He is in white long johns and then wrapped in shredded white fabric. He really wanted to wear the face make-up so that he would look 'dead'. So we did white on his face and red around his eyes. Besides the fact that he kept unraveling all night, I think he was very pleased.
Nathan wanted to be Iron Man but didn't want to wear the mask much. (sorry it's blurry, it was the best of him)
 All together
Nathan did wear the mask a little at the Trunk-or-Treat. Here he is with Jon sitting in the back of the van, waiting to start.

Over all it was a great Halloween. The kids had a blast and only 1 threw up that night. (Landon has such a weak stomach and ate way too much junk). The boys are already making plans for next year... we'll see how it turns out.

Landon turned 8

Well Landon's Birthday this year last close to week.  The night before his b-day we went to my uncle's house so here are the birthday boys. Landon and his Great Grandpa Felt have birthdays only 2 days apart.

Birthday Breakfast... Mickey Mouse pancakes with chocolate chip faces

Landon wanted a Lego Ninjago Birthday so while Jon took Landon, Kyler, and Bryon to Get Air,  my Mom and I decorated. We put ninja faces on the balloons and decorated the cake.

Landon was very excited to get to start cub scouts. Gma and Gpa G got him the uniform

THE CAKE!!! It is a Lego Ninjago Face (his name is Zane to be exact). I am always a little nervous when I do fondant work but I am thrilled with how it turned out. ( and yes the creased are suppose to be there to create a draping affect )
Landon got a Lego Star Wars Character Encyclopedia. He reads it all the time and comes and says 'Mom did you know....." I now know way more about Star Wars then I ever really cared to. He also received this General Grievous face mask that talks and the new long sleeve shirt. (pictured below)

Did I mention that my handsome boy just got glasses too. Isn't he handsome! Grandma got him this superman t-shirt to help ease the change with classes because after all Clark Kent wears glasses.

The Baptism Day
Due to Landon's birthday landing on General Conference Saturday,  Landon was able to get baptized the next Saturday rather than waiting until Nov. It was a beautiful day filled with family and close friends.
