Stitches

This morning ,on doctor's orders of course, I removed Jon's stitches from this surgery. I was very proud of myself for actually do it and not needing to call in reinforcements. He is pretty much back to his usually stuff with the exception of being able to lift heavy things with his left arm. The doctor said that he will have complete use of his arm and be able to do what ever he wants except probably chin ups. Jon said the worst part now is that all of his chest hair is starting to grow back and it itches like crazy.

Layton's Farm

We were invited to visit the new animals at the Layton's Farm. They are a dear sweet couple in Grandma and Grandpa Humphries' ward. It turns out that they are descendants of the Layton's that founded the town. They have goats, sheep with new lambs, and cows with calves. By the end of the season, apparently they will be having 12 new calves birthed on the farm. it was a lot of fun and the kids loved seeing the animals up close.

Feeding the cows

Landon and Bryon really enjoyed helping feed hay to the cows and watching them eat it. Kyler, on the other hand, didn't like how loud #12 moos so he didn't want to get too close.

Moo!

At the farm the boys loved talking to the animals. Landon is very politely mooing to the new calf.

Happy Easter!

Here is the best picture we got of the boys in their new church clothes. Due to the cast Kyler has been forced to wear shorts almost all the time.

Easter Bunny Came!

Landon was very eager to see if he got the one thing he asked for... a kite. He did get a Diego kite as well as a book, and other little fun things.

Basket fun

The was the first Easter that Kyler actually got excited to see what was in his basket. He got a book, movie, sunglasses and some candy.

Sunglasses

The Easter Bunny brought both the boys sunglasses this year. He must have heard that they are going to Florida in May.

Coloring Eggs

This is the first year that we actually let the kids dye Easter Eggs. They had and blast coloring the eggs, especially with Grandma.

Broken Leg!

While going down a slide at the park Kyler's leg got caught behind him and BROKE! He has what they classify as a toddler break, for him it is a spiral fracture in his lower leg. The doctors said that they can be doing something that they've done a million times and one time it will just happen. He was put in this soft cast for a few days to make sure he wasn't going to swell, then was hard casted. The worst part was that Jon and I were out of town. We were in St. George where Jon was having surgery when it happened. For those of you who don't know Jon had about 2 inches of his collar bone removed. He is doing better but it will take time.

Hard Cast

When we went to the doctor's office to get casted, we let Kyler pick out the color he wanted. He kept on saying Red, Blue, Red, Blue. We decided to let him have red first on his long cast (above the knee) and in two weeks when he gets his short cast (below the knee) he will get blue. Besides just being really uncomfortable it definetly hasn't slowed him down at all. He crawls everywhere and can walk if he is holding onto something. The coolest thing is that they now have cast covers that will allow him to be able to take a bath with no problems. Because he is so small we had to get an arm cover so it would fit. It's amazing what cool things are out now.

Boxers or Briefs?

Landon has recently made the transition from briefs to boxer-briefs. He is so proud of his 'big boy underwear'. He enjoys showing off his muscles to show just how big he is getting.

Handy Men!

On Saturdays Home Depot and Lowe's do build it crafts for kids. We have been meaning to take the boys but finally got around to it. They made periscopes, and they really work. They each received an apron and certificate along with a patch of each project they complete to attach to the aprons. It was a lot of fun and a great way for the boys to learn how to properly use the tools that they always want to use with Dad.

Tuckered Out

During our Open House on Saturday the boys were so tired that they crashed on the couch. We didn't want then to sleep in their room in case we had people walk through.

New Shoes!

Since Kyler is the second boy many/most of his clothes and shoes are hand-me-downs. He finally got his first pair of shoes that were actually pick out especially for him. He was been so excited that he wears them from the time we get him dressed to the time we change at night. He won't even take them off for naps. Needless to say he is very proud of his big boy shoes.

Aunt Krista

For the past few days Aunt Krista has been sleeping on our couch. The boys always love when Krista comes to visit but most of all they love to try and scare her in the mornings to wake her up. On this trip Ky finally stopped calling her Grandpa.

A valentine for Choo

Ky has really been enjoying Thomas the Train lately so when we found this set of 2 DVD's and a toy train we had to get it.

Be Mine!

We decide that this year we would get the boys some little videos and stuff that they would enjoy. Landon got a Disney Pixar sticker book and a Leap Frog DVD that teaches him how to use the sounds of letters to make words. Landon loves the video and I even caught Kyler doing it too.

Happy Valentine's Daddy

During craft time this week, Landon and Kyler made Valentines' cards for Daddy and for their grandparents.

Tuckered Out

Kyler liked his train so much that he fell asleep on the couch with Thomas the Train in his hand. He has been taking the train with him almost everywhere he goes.

Ouch!

This afternoon Landon was closing the dishwasher for me and kind of smacked Kyler on the chin. It was bleeding pretty good, hints the Diego bandaid. Ky was going around the house calling the bandaid his awwee sticker.

Car Show

This week we went to the Auto Expo. The boys enjoyed being able to sit in all of the cars and push lots of buttons with out getting in trouble. In this pic Landon, Kyler, and their cousin Nick are driving a Volkswagon Bug Convertible.

Sled race

While Mom and Krista were here visiting we wanted to take advantage of the beautiful snow outside so we bought 2 two-man sleds and went to a near by park with the best sleding hills in town. Landon loved the thrill of the whole thing and even wanted to ride by himself. This is Jon and Landon racing head first on their tummies... Landon went the furthest and left Jon with a face full of snow.

Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam!

Landon started Sunbeams on Sunday. Saturday they had a get to know your new teacher breakfast at the church for all of the Primary kids. Landon was a little nervous and didn't want me to leave but did just fine once I was gone and his best friend Ashton came. He was very excited to go to Primary on Sunday and loved the fact that he got to carry Jon's old scriptures with him and wear a cool crown.

Nursery

Kyler got to attend nursery at church for the first time on Sunday. His teacher said that did really well and only fused just for a moment when he realized that I had left. It is so weird going to class without Ky.
