Stitches
This morning ,on doctor's orders of course, I removed Jon's stitches from this surgery. I was very proud of myself for actually do it and not needing to call in reinforcements. He is pretty much back to his usually stuff with the exception of being able to lift heavy things with his left arm. The doctor said that he will have complete use of his arm and be able to do what ever he wants except probably chin ups. Jon said the worst part now is that all of his chest hair is starting to grow back and it itches like crazy.

Layton's Farm
We were invited to visit the new animals at the Layton's Farm. They are a dear sweet couple in Grandma and Grandpa Humphries' ward. It turns out that they are descendants of the Layton's that founded the town. They have goats, sheep with new lambs, and cows with calves. By the end of the season, apparently they will be having 12 new calves birthed on the farm. it was a lot of fun and the kids loved seeing the animals up close.

Broken Leg!
While going down a slide at the park Kyler's leg got caught behind him and BROKE! He has what they classify as a toddler break, for him it is a spiral fracture in his lower leg. The doctors said that they can be doing something that they've done a million times and one time it will just happen. He was put in this soft cast for a few days to make sure he wasn't going to swell, then was hard casted. The worst part was that Jon and I were out of town. We were in St. George where Jon was having surgery when it happened. For those of you who don't know Jon had about 2 inches of his collar bone removed. He is doing better but it will take time.
Hard Cast
When we went to the doctor's office to get casted, we let Kyler pick out the color he wanted. He kept on saying Red, Blue, Red, Blue. We decided to let him have red first on his long cast (above the knee) and in two weeks when he gets his short cast (below the knee) he will get blue. Besides just being really uncomfortable it definetly hasn't slowed him down at all. He crawls everywhere and can walk if he is holding onto something. The coolest thing is that they now have cast covers that will allow him to be able to take a bath with no problems. Because he is so small we had to get an arm cover so it would fit. It's amazing what cool things are out now.

Boxers or Briefs?
Handy Men!
On Saturdays Home Depot and Lowe's do build it crafts for kids. We have been meaning to take the boys but finally got around to it. They made periscopes, and they really work. They each received an apron and certificate along with a patch of each project they complete to attach to the aprons. It was a lot of fun and a great way for the boys to learn how to properly use the tools that they always want to use with Dad.
