California Vacation

For our family vacation this year we drove to California and participated in a Garbett Family Reunion. We had an entire church camp to ourselves which was fabulous and we had 4 generations present.
Typically we like to leave really early for long distance trips but since we couldn't drop the puppy off at the boarding house until 8 it was a little different. Since we had to take all of our camping gear (as well as some for my parents) Jon decided the best way would be to lower the back seat of the van and have all three boys ride in the middle seats. So here are the boys excited to get on the road, and look we could still see out the back windows.
Believe it or not we don't own any portable DVD players. So we found this contraption online that can hold a tablet and it worked perfectly.
Our first night of the trip we actually stayed in a hotel in Reno. Here's our 3 stooges ready for bed.

On the drive from Reno to our camp grounds in northern Cali we had a little bit of puckage. We were driving on a really twisty mountain road when both Kyler and Nathan start to up-chuck all over. Luckily there was a rest stop about a mile further, so we stopped and got as cleaned up as possible. When we got to camp I took some dish soap and scrubbed the car seat, clothes and Nathan's 'Dog-Dog'
Poor 'Dog-Dog' had to hang by the ears for at least 24 hrs before he was completely dry.

What's a Garbett Reunion without a little volleyball action.

During one of the 'free times' the kids got to decorate cupcakes and color a camping picture. At the very top of the table is my Grandma making sure everyone does a good job.

Jon taught the kids to do the 'Gumby Challenge' . Here is Sierra giving it her best shot

And Jon doing the Gumby Challenge

Jon carved a special stick for Landon, because on our second day at camp Landon got a horrible migraine. Anytime there was a loud noise Landon would start throwing up.

In the evenings, we all gathered at the campfire stage and just had a lot of fun.
Here's Scott and Steven in 'A Minute to Win It' game

My mom helped all the kids make frog puppets. So they all preformed a little song for all the parents.

Landon was anxiously awaiting his turn to shoot the paint ball gun.
My cousin Joe helping the kids with the paint ball gun.

One of the best parts to the camp was that we got it all to ourselves, including the lake and boats. In this pic Jon and Kieth are out on the raft with a bunch of the kids and Michael and his son are on one of the paddle boats.

Of course what's camping without a fire and s'mores.

Oh how cute. My Dad with his youngest grandchild, Evan, asleep on his shoulder.
Nathan and Daddy were playing with the camera

Kyler, Kyler, Kyler. He kept on insisting that the camp wasn't clean enough so he was literally raking all the leaves and pine cones.

My Mom thought it would be fun to give the little boys (Nathan, Trent, and Evan) rides in the wheelbarrow.

Me and two of my munchkins.
Nathan sporting his new fashion accessories, Glow sticks.

Landon is very proud of this, for a special talent he went up and did armpit farts.

And of course I had to prove that I can lick my elbow

Here I am with Nathan, my grandparents, and my Uncle Brent.

It was such a great experience getting together with family that I haven't seen in YEARS. I can't wait to do it again. (Minus the throwing up children, that is)

Happy Birthday Kyler!

It's hard to believe that my Ky Guy turned 6. (tear)
For breakfast Kyler requested donuts. So after I had finished working out and showering I woke him up to go for the donut run with me. He went in his pajamas because we had to hurry to beat the daycare kids that were coming. I forgot to take a picture of the donuts but here he is after eating donuts and strawberry/banana smoothies.
The birthday boy when I said pose
This is what Ky refers to as his handsome smile
This year Kyler wanted a spy cake and he designed it himself. The red Twizzlers are lasers, the M&M are bombs and the Lego guys are trying to get through the obstacle course. If you look closely one of the lego guys hit a bomb an blew up

 Present time
Gma and Gpa Garbett got him an Avengers coloring book and a lego game.
With three boys it gets difficult to come up with ideas for birthdays/Christmas. So when this came along it was perfect. A family in our ward sold us this HUGE bucket of bionicles and  Kyler LOVES it SO much.

4th Festivities

Our forth of July festivities were pretty low key but fun. We started with nice family breakfast then Jon had to head off to work. After getting the house cleaned up a little bit the boys helped me make patriotic cookies (star shaped cookies with blue sprinkles or red stripes on them. Then we headed over to Grandpa's to swim. Some of their cousins were there so it was lots of fun. That evening, after Jon got home, we headed over to our city's huge firework show.

Landon, Kyler, and their cousin Bryon playing with glow sticks that Aunt Sarah brought.

June in a nutshell

Of course we celebrated Father's Day. This is the card we made for Jon. The POP is for his fav soda, Apple Beer. And the PIECES is for his fav candy.

Stake Pizza Party Spectacular
Each summer our Stake puts on a huge bash. This year it was a pizza party with 5 bounce houses, a little train, snow cones, etc.
Ky coming down the bounce house water slide.

Nathan loved the bounce houses but would always stop and look at Jon and say Cheese!
Landon and Nathan in the little train car.
 Kyler on the train.
 There they go

With all of the empty pizza boxes a bunch of people started to use them as sleds and go down the big hill. Here's Landon and Ky in action.

Castle Park
We had heard a lot of people talk about castle park so one Saturday we set out to find it and play.

 Nathan driving the ship
 Kyler driving the ship
The three boys all wanted to try the tire swing so it took both Jon and I to push it around so it didn't spin too fast. In the back you can see a decent shot of the park. It was a lot of fun and the boys loved that it was totally different than the usual parks we go to.
