For our family vacation this year we drove to California and participated in a Garbett Family Reunion. We had an entire church camp to ourselves which was fabulous and we had 4 generations present.
Typically we like to leave really early for long distance trips but since we couldn't drop the puppy off at the boarding house until 8 it was a little different. Since we had to take all of our camping gear (as well as some for my parents) Jon decided the best way would be to lower the back seat of the van and have all three boys ride in the middle seats. So here are the boys excited to get on the road, and look we could still see out the back windows.
Believe it or not we don't own any portable DVD players. So we found this contraption online that can hold a tablet and it worked perfectly.
Our first night of the trip we actually stayed in a hotel in Reno. Here's our 3 stooges ready for bed.
On the drive from Reno to our camp grounds in northern Cali we had a little bit of puckage. We were driving on a really twisty mountain road when both Kyler and Nathan start to up-chuck all over. Luckily there was a rest stop about a mile further, so we stopped and got as cleaned up as possible. When we got to camp I took some dish soap and scrubbed the car seat, clothes and Nathan's 'Dog-Dog'
Poor 'Dog-Dog' had to hang by the ears for at least 24 hrs before he was completely dry.
What's a Garbett Reunion without a little volleyball action.
During one of the 'free times' the kids got to decorate cupcakes and color a camping picture. At the very top of the table is my Grandma making sure everyone does a good job.

Jon taught the kids to do the 'Gumby Challenge' . Here is Sierra giving it her best shot

Jon carved a special stick for Landon, because on our second day at camp Landon got a horrible migraine. Anytime there was a loud noise Landon would start throwing up.
In the evenings, we all gathered at the campfire stage and just had a lot of fun.
Here's Scott and Steven in 'A Minute to Win It' game
My mom helped all the kids make frog puppets. So they all preformed a little song for all the parents.

Landon was anxiously awaiting his turn to shoot the paint ball gun.
My cousin Joe helping the kids with the paint ball gun.
One of the best parts to the camp was that we got it all to ourselves, including the lake and boats. In this pic Jon and Kieth are out on the raft with a bunch of the kids and Michael and his son are on one of the paddle boats.
Of course what's camping without a fire and s'mores.
Oh how cute. My Dad with his youngest grandchild, Evan, asleep on his shoulder.
Nathan and Daddy were playing with the camera
Kyler, Kyler, Kyler. He kept on insisting that the camp wasn't clean enough so he was literally raking all the leaves and pine cones.
My Mom thought it would be fun to give the little boys (Nathan, Trent, and Evan) rides in the wheelbarrow.
Me and two of my munchkins.
Nathan sporting his new fashion accessories, Glow sticks.
Landon is very proud of this, for a special talent he went up and did armpit farts.
And of course I had to prove that I can lick my elbow
Here I am with Nathan, my grandparents, and my Uncle Brent.
It was such a great experience getting together with family that I haven't seen in YEARS. I can't wait to do it again. (Minus the throwing up children, that is)
